31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes 01: "Calling"

We've been challenged by Kate over at Heading Home to write for 5 minutes on a one word prompt for the next month.  So without further ado...

II Peter 1:10 - Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.

Romans 11:29 - For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
 

I wrote a while back about the gifts that God has given me, but I've not written much about my calling.  I haven't because I don't really know what it is. 

This has been a real struggle for me.  While my friends are in the throws of their calling as a wife and/or mom, I'm left in the dust.  Is there an acceptable calling for women outside of the domestic?  Is there room at the table for a woman living the "non-family" life?

Yes, I have many gifts, but no true calling.  I need a true purpose for my life.  I need to find my "why" as Danny Cahill would say.
