April Showers Bring Yellowhammers: The Weekly Hodgepodge

Want to join the party?  Go on over to From This Side of the Pond  for the Hodgepodge questions.

Since these questions are posting on the first day of April it seems only right to ask-when was the last time you did something foolish? If you can't answer that one, try this one-when was the last time someone fooled you?
Foolish, as in embarrassing/stupid foolish, or foolish, as in silly?  I do stupid stuff all the time that frequently embarrasses others. For example, I'm very sensitive to loud or high pitched noises.  Sound systems and microphones are notoriously quirky, so when I hear loud pops or squeals I'm very jumpy and I sometimes yell in pain. It really aggravates people, but it's my ears, not theirs.  As far as silly foolish--get me around kids and I'll unashamedly be just a silly as they are.
What's the last biography or non-fiction book you've read? Was it any good?
The last non-fiction book I read was Boundaries for Leaders by Dr. Henry Cloud.  I reviewed it here.
Garlic-friend or foe? What's your favorite dish made with garlic?
I enjoy using garlic.  I use it most when I cook chicken.
Several Spring flower festivals happen in the US during the month of April. Of those listed, which would you most like to see in person...The Skagit Tulip Festival in Skagit Washington, The Dogwood Arts Festival in Knoxville Tennessee, The North Carolina Azalea Festival in Wilmington North Carolina or the Daffodil Festival Weekend on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts?
I'd never heard of any of these until now.  I think I would like the Azalea Festival most.  Azaleas are gorgeous and very easy to grow.  I enjoy the show mine and my mom's Azaleas put on every spring.
How do you choose which blogs to read?  What is something that will make you stop and read every time? Something that makes you say, 'eh, think I'll skip this one and move on to the next'?
This may tick some people off, and for that I sincerely apologize.  But, I've grown very weary of reading "mommy blogs," or more accurately, "I'm a better woman than you because I'm a wife and/or mom and you're not" blogs.  Seems like every blog I click on is about marriage and motherhood or a single who's pining for Prince Charming.  Sigh.  I'm not saying those blogs shouldn't be written; there is awesome advice and camaraderie amongst mommy bloggers, but I'm having a hard time finding blogs that I relate to and bloggers who can relate to me.
April is National Mathematics Education Month so tell us, when did you last use math?
Adding up my times and figuring mileage for walks/runs/bike rides, balancing my checkbook, calculating calories, etc.  I use math a lot.
In honor of the A-Z challenge kicking off on April 1...choose one word beginning with the letter A to describe your yesterday.
Aggravating!  I had an early appointment to get lab work done only to have to wait an hour and a half to get three tubes of blood drawn because all the staff was in a meeting.  WTC?!  Plus, I've had a sinus headache knowing at my right eye for days.  I got some "non-drowsy" sinus pills for it that I have to sleep off during the most productive hours of my day.  I didn't get to ride yesterday, plus I missed band practice.  Auntie was NOT a happy camper!

Finished this "Rammer Jammer" afghan this week.  ROLL TIDE!
