Five Minute Friday: "Whisper"

Our Mistress of Ceremonies for the Five Minute Friday is Kate over at Heading Home.  Hope you link up with us and join the fun.

And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:  And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

I Kings 19:11-12 (King James Version)

GO!

This word prompt brings many disjointed thoughts to mind.

I long to have God whisper my name while I want to be able to shout His without shame.

The pretend whispering of a small child is one of the most hilarious things in the world.  I can't stop laughing long enough to do it back.

I think of Bob Ross when he's painting saying that your paintbrush should just "whisper light" on the canvas.  I don't know what that means, but I'd sure better learn if I want to paint anything like him.

A couple of books containing the word whisper I want to read:  Whispers of Moonlight by Lori Wick and When God Whispers Your Name by Max Lacado.

When I think of the act of whispering, I think of gossip.  I think of secrets under wraps.  I think of hidden agendas.  So, maybe our whispering isn't such a good thing after all.

FULL STOP!
