Outside my window … Dark and rainy.

I am thinking... about Thanksgiving.  I intend to spend it the same way I spent it last year--serving dinner at the Episcopal Church.  I really enjoyed it last year and it's a great way to give.

I am thankful... for a few days to rest and reboot.
In the kitchen...  nothing now, it's late.  I need to hit the grocery store and restock the healthy part of the kitchen.

I am wearing... bedclothes.  Yes, I know it's only 8:30 p.m. central standard time -and I've been in bed since 7:30.  Have I mentioned how much I loathe the time change?

I am creating...
NOTHING.  I've been running and gunning for the past couple of months getting ready for the sale, so I am taking a couple of days off.  I'll hit it hard again the end of this week.

I am going...  Nowhere tonight.  With the colder weather the first part of the week, I'm probably not going to be out of the house much.  But the end of the week looks better, so I hope to get out on the trail for a few walks and bike rides.
I am wondering... how to keep the workout mojo going during the cold months.  I know for my mental health, I'll need to get outside as much as possible.  Good thing Alabama doesn't have weeks and weeks of cold weather.  When the warmer days come, I need to flee for the hills.

I am reading...  Since the sale is over, I can finish God is Not Mad at You by Joyce Meyer and start a new book.

I am hoping... for a week of rest, regrouping, and reorganizing.  I'm also hoping that I can sell my remaining items online.

I am looking forward to...
the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.
I am learning
… that I need more rest, not sleep.  I slept nearly 12 hours last night, but was still so tired today that I needed a nap, plus I'm in bed before 9:00.

Around the house... Getting my work areas back into order,
I am pondering...  on the Christian doctrine of election. I'm not going to get into a deep theological rant here, but I've recently heard a teacher speak on it and every scripture I know seems to point in the completely opposite direction.  Honestly, I don't care what brother Doo-Dad's opinion is, nor do I care what my opinion is; I only care about what The Book says.  Brother Doo-Dad and I can always be wrong; The Book is never wrong.
A favorite quote for today...

"'Let me explain 'Pal'… 'Pal' means there's somebody that I don't know his name…'Papa Rocks' is the same thing as 'pal' but he's over 65." - Greg Burgess

"When you create art, products, will ALWAYS be criticized. But make your art anyway." - Dave Ramsey

One of my favorite things... Sweatpants.

A few plans for the rest of the week:   Resting, running some errands, resting some more.

A peek into my day...  Painted this one for the November senior dance.

  1. I am dreading our cold, snowy weather here in Michigan! Can we just fast forward to May!?!?

  2. It is a dark and rainy day here too. I feel like just curling up in bed and taking a nap! Have a great week!

  3. My first time visiting here so I'm not really sure about the sale you have mentioned, but I do hope that it turned out well for you.

Love your piece of art...and the quotes you've shared.

    1. A local church had a Christmas Bazaar / Sale, and I created items for it. It didn't turn out as well as I wanted it to, but it was fun.

      Thanks so much for reading.

  4. This is my first time to drop by and read your daybook entry. I enjoyed it. I especially love your giving heart and plans for Thanksgiving.
You are obviously a very busy person; so it is good you are taking a break to rest.
I too need to be outdoors; but it is so cold now here; that I don't want to move.
    The painting is lovely.
Blessings for your thoughts on this one. Living Waters @
