Our Mistress of Ceremonies for the Five Minute Friday is Kate over at Heading Home. Hope you link up with us and join the fun.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
I Peter 3:15 (King James Version)
GO!
Ready, set, GO! The starting gun blasts and I start. I'm not ready. I get through the first little bit. Crap, I'm so not ready. I make it a little further. I'm really not ready. I do a faceplant on the pavement. Oh, Lord, Help me. I am absolutely not ready.
And such is my life's race, oh yeah, the one the Bible says I'm to "run with patience" (Hebrews 12:1) and "press towards the high calling of God" (Philippians 3:14). But no, I'm impatient in some aspects, lazy in others, so I'm ill prepared to deal with life. Not ready to conquer. Not ready to be an Iron Diva. Why? I'm running without my Coach. He gives me instructions, but I don't wait around to let Him guide me on how to go about it. I say OK, I've got this, then proceed to do it myself--falling flat on my face nearly every time. Thankfully, my Coach is very patient and merciful
He is ready. If I am willing, He makes me able.
FULL STOP!
I like this! You are so right - without our Coach we are so capable of face-plants on the road of our journey.
ReplyDeleteI should have a flat nose by now. You'd think I'd learn. :)
DeleteTo fall and rise is the best way to learn. I am sure you're learning well. The Coach always has the best plan for us :)
